My name is Melissa. Having been born, raised, and having fallen in love in SLO I'm so excited to spend my days freezing those same special moments here for others.
People, color, life and light exhilarate me. And wrapping all of that up in a photo, well, that's what I live for. Wanna get to know more? Send me an email, I'd love to get to know you too.

Lilly Kelly - Atascadero

This photo shoot had been in the books for a while and I was quite excited for it. As a last minute bonus I got to shoot it with Erik!! It's great to work with him, we really compliment each other well, and Lilly took to him just fine ;)

A fun part about this shoot is that Lilly's mom is very creatively minded and was able to have input, this pose in front of the tree was her idea and I must say it came out wonderfully!

No photo session is complete without the random stranger pose. I believe his exact words were "Please! No pictures!" and then proceeded to hold his pose for a full fifteen seconds before I caught on and snapped the shot.

Isn't he cute??

Lilly is very good at Simon Says, so when I said do what I do, she had it down! To the very last detail of mimicking the camera I was holding. =)

These photos are some of my favorite that were taken by Erik:

It was a great session, Lilly, although full of energy, was a doll to photograph!

Jennalee and Jimmy - Married!

Jennalee has been one of my best friends since 8th grade. Being a part of her wedding was so amazing and special. They had so many people there to support them and even with some looming mishaps that could have spoiled things everything turned out beautifully.
It was truly a very awe inspiring day watching Jennalee and Jimmy promise the rest of their lives to each other. They are each others whole world and hearing them share their written vows for each other almost seemed like eavesdropping on a private conversation and nearly the whole crowd teared up.
I was lucky enough to be one of Jennalee's bridesmaids, but I also brought my camera so here are some of the shots I snagged before everything began.

This location (Spanish Oaks Ranch) is gorgeous and I recommend it for anyone!

Isn't this a gorgeous cake?! Made by Jennalee's family!

Everything about this day was amazing and REALLY got me into wedding mode!! I can't wait until Dani's wedding this weekend!
